Hello, I’m Numa, the heart behind Maag Studios based in Basel, Switzerland. As a passionate music producer and sound engineer, I bring a blend of creativity and technical expertise to every project. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sound Engineering from Berlin, where I honed my skills and developed a keen ear for detail.
My journey into electronic music production began in 2015 with a school project that sparked something in me – a curiosity that quickly grew into a deep passion. Over the years, music became an essential part of my everyday life. In 2020 I released my first songs after a good friend gave me the final push to release them. That moment marked the true beginning of my artistic path as Numa.
Originally, I completed a commercial apprenticeship in the pharmaceutical industry, followed by a business-focused high school diploma. When it came time to choose a field of study, I decided to fully commit to what I love most: music production. That decision took me to Berlin, where I studied Creative Audio Production and Sound Engineering at Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology. During those three years, I also started DJing under the alias Missing Unit and gained my first international experiences as Numa – including gigs in Turkey.
At the end of 2024, I returned to Switzerland to bring my vision of an independent music studio to life. Alongside my studio work, I also work as a sports journalist – but music has always been, and continues to be, my driving force. In 2025, I decided to merge my former label, Numa Shourai Productions, with my studio brand Maag Studios. From now on, Maag Studios will operate not only as a creative space for music production, but also as a label dedicated to releasing original music.
